The art of Roeland van Trigt
Roeland van Trigt (1991) explores within his work, the different ways in which power and ideology are reinforced by visual language. He uses sculpture, architecture, music and installation in the broad sense. Over the years, his work has evolved more and more towards a convergence of various media in a search for a total experience for the spectator. Although his work starts from existing forms of ideology within the visual language, Roeland prefers to create his own fiction for which he makes smart propaganda. By taking this distance he hopes to expose this visual language for himself and the observer instead of mimicking the glare of power. Within his work forms of cooperation are important, to make it easier to work in a cross media way, but above all to deal with the challenges these clashes generate. 2018
